Can you convert carpeted stairs to hardwood?
Yes. We remove the carpet and old treads, install new hardwood stair treads, risers and nosing, and stain them to match your floor.
Can you replace wood spindles with iron balusters?
Yes. Swapping wood pickets for black iron balusters is one of the easiest ways to update a staircase. We can do it together with new treads or on its own.
Do you refinish existing stairs?
We refinish existing handrails, posts, nosing and side boards. For refinishing a whole existing staircase, call us at 905-947-8668 so we can see it first.
Can I keep my railing and only replace the steps?
Yes. We can remove your handrail, posts and spindles, replace the steps and reinstall your railing. Choose "Keep my railing" in the online estimator.
Can the stairs be stained to match my floor?
Yes. We mix and apply the colour you choose so the stairs match your new floor.
How do I count my stairs for an estimate?
Count each step by its shape: standard rectangular steps, pie or triangle steps at a turn, and bullnose steps with a rounded end (usually the bottom one). Note whether each side is open or against a wall.
