Flooring installation cost & free estimates
How much is flooring installation cost per sq ft in Markham and Toronto?

Our free online flooring estimate prices your rooms in about 3 minutes, anywhere in Markham, Toronto, Richmond Hill and the GTA. Starting prices for installation labour are on our flooring installation cost page.
Is your online flooring estimate free?
Yes. The online flooring installation estimate is free with no obligation. Bring it to our flooring store in Markham and sign within 2 weeks to get a $50 project credit.
Is there a minimum charge for flooring installation?

How do I get an exact quote for supply and install?
Start with the free online estimate, then visit our Markham flooring showroom or call us. We’ll confirm the exact floor, the areas and anything special about your home — like subfloor or floor levelling work — before you sign.
Vinyl plank, SPC, laminate & hardwood flooring
What is the best basement flooring?
Waterproof luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or SPC flooring is the best basement flooring — it handles moisture far better than hardwood or laminate. Over concrete, a subfloor or insulated subfloor keeps the floor warmer and drier. See our waterproof vinyl plank and SPC flooring.
What is the best flooring for dogs and pets?
LVP and SPC flooring with a thick wear layer are waterproof and scratch-resistant — great for homes with kids and dogs. Laminate flooring is very durable too. Come feel the samples at our Markham flooring store.
Can you replace carpet with hardwood or vinyl plank flooring?
Yes — carpet to hardwood, carpet to vinyl plank and carpet to laminate are some of our most common jobs. We do the carpet removal and disposal, prepare the subfloor, install the new floor and finish with baseboards, shoe moulding or quarter round. See our carpet to laminate project in Oshawa.
Do you remove and dispose of the old floor?
Yes. Old floor removal and disposal is part of our flooring installation service — you don’t need to arrange a bin.
Can I buy flooring without installation?
Yes. Our flooring store and warehouse in Markham sells vinyl plank, SPC, laminate, hardwood and engineered hardwood, tile, stair parts, baseboards and trim, underlay and other renovation materials.
Is your flooring in stock?
Availability changes often, so please call us at 905-947-8668 or visit our Markham showroom to check a specific colour. If it is not on hand, ask us about ordering it.
Healthy flooring, colours & underlayment
Is there formaldehyde-free flooring?
SPC and vinyl plank flooring have no wood-based core, so there’s no formaldehyde-based glue in the plank. Laminate and engineered hardwood use wood-based panels and glue — if that’s a concern, ask us about the floor you’re considering. Read more in our flooring buying guide.
How long does the new floor smell last?
With good ventilation, most new-floor smell fades within a few days.
Dark vs light hardwood floors: which makes a room look bigger?
Light oak flooring and natural oak flooring reflect light and make small or dark rooms feel bigger; wide plank flooring adds to the open feel. See light oak, wide plank and matte finishes.
Dark vs light hardwood floors: which shows dirt more?
Dark floors show dust, scratches and pet hair; very light floors show dirt. Mid-tones with visible grain and a matte finish hide everyday mess best.
Can you install vinyl plank over tile?
Usually yes, if the tile is solid and flat. Deep grout lines may need filling first, and the added height has to clear doors and appliances. We check this when we quote.
What are my floor underlayment options?
Foam underlay for most click floors, rubber or acoustic underlay to reduce noise (often needed in condos), and subfloor or insulated subfloor panels for basements. See underlay and subfloor.
Stair renovation
Can you change carpeted stairs to hardwood stairs?
Yes. For carpet to hardwood stairs, we remove the carpet and install new hardwood stair treads, risers and stair nosing, stained to match your floor. See our stair renovation page.
Can I keep my railing, or switch to iron balusters?
Both. We can take off your existing railing, install new stair treads and put the railing back. We also do stair refinishing for handrails, posts and side boards, handrail replacement, and wood to iron spindles — swapping wood pickets for black iron balusters.
Bathroom, basement & kitchen renovation
Do you do full bathroom renovations and basement renovations?
Yes — complete bathroom renovations (tile installation, vanities, shower kits and glass shower doors) and basement renovations (flooring, subfloor, insulation, drywall and trim) in Markham, Toronto and the GTA, with one team for the whole job. For a legal basement second suite, we can put you in touch with partners who prepare drawings and apply for permits.
Do you design and install kitchen cabinets and countertops?
Yes. We design and install custom kitchen cabinets and countertops — even for tricky layouts. See our North York kitchen renovation.
Do you work with landlords, contractors and designers?
Yes. We help landlords with rental property flooring, homeowners replacing flooring before selling, and contractors and designers.
